DiVonte D. Gorham
I'm DiVonte, a student game artist currently residing in the Dallas, Texas area, but willing to relocate. My expected graduation is in December 2014. My passions, goals, and reasons for joining the game industry revolve around designing experiences that emotionally move people. I just so happen to have focused on the artistic side of that, partially because of that amazing feeling I get whenever I enter a new area and see the world slowly reveal itself in both broad and subtle strokes. Whether it is awe or disgust, tears or laughter, as long as it's working towards a well-crafted memorable experience then I'd really be proud of having contributed to its creation.
I really love building modular environments that fit together and build off of each other. The less time dedicated to making unique assets, the more quality can be pulled from each individual asset, and the more time can be dedicated to crafting and iterating on the experience for players. Some games (and series of games!) that inspire me greatly in terms of aesthetic design are the Ratchet and Clank series, Dead Space, Transistor, Dota 2, Phantasy Star Online, Shadow of the Colossus, Team Fortress 2, and The Last of Us.
